What do you see?

It’s amazing how a little step of action can turn to a habit. I am sure you must have heard the saying that our thoughts births our words, our words broths our actions, our actions births our habits and habits character and character destiny.

Well, it was a beautiful Friday evening when I was taking a stroll through the evening streets close to where I reside.

Meanwhile prior to now, I had always seen this spot, more like a drink spot but in front was always this big grill filled with fishes passing through the smoke.

I had always wanted to take a bite of that barbecue fish but somehow I had always been restrained from the thoughts of how much it could be.

On this very day, I had been wanting to give me a little treat and I was like what’s the worst that can happen.

If I walk up to the spot and ask how much, if it’s way beyond what I can afford, I’d simply find a way to leave stylishly.

Well, that step began a circle that I am yet to step out of. I walked up to the guy smoking the fishes and asked how much and when he said the price, I was impressed.

Not so expensive as I had thought. I stayed back and ordered one as a special treat to me and guess what? I had gone more again than I had planned to.

Well, should I also call this my new found addiction?

Maybe or maybe now but how do I explained having this four times in the last 3 weeks. And even last night I had another binge.

Delicious and filling as it may but it’s definitely becoming a habit. So how do I unentangle myself from the webs of a delicious smoked fish barbecue with sweet potatoes and accompanying coleslaw nagging at my weary soul?

I don’t know if it’s the potatoes which I usually swallow first alongside the coleslaw that hot differently or the spicy sauce accompanying the fish that gnaws more at my soul.

All a combo of sweetness and pleasure merges in a satisfying crescendo that keeps my souls longing for more of this blessing…

I think at this point, I am hooked.

The hook was meant for the fish but since I am eating the fish now, should we say I just took it place 😂?
