The other day, I was looking at the figures regarding the rising cost of living driven by fuel price hikes—and, consequently, the cost of everything transported by road—not to mention airfares, which have also risen due to fuel costs.
All of this has a name and a surname.
Donald Trump.
If the tycoon hadn't made such a historic blunder regarding Iran, the Strait would be open today, oil tankers would be moving, and we wouldn't be in this mess.
Even in the United States, diesel has surpassed $6 a gallon—again, thanks to a "stroke of genius" by that country's president.
Now, I hope that with the midterm elections, Americans will remedy the damage they inflicted on themselves—and on the entire world.
Some genius might object: "Yeah, but what about Putin?"
Russia never stopped selling us gas and fuel at a price four times lower than what Italy is paying for supplies from the US.
It is we European countries—under the leadership of criminal politicians—who refuse to buy energy products from Russia, preferring instead to line the pockets of the Ukrainian drug addict.
Which, incidentally, isn't even true.
Fortunately for them, many countries continue to buy from Russia on the sly.
Not to mention Trump's demand to raise military spending to 5% of GDP—something we Italian lackeys are trying to do by stripping resources from the welfare state.
It is worth remembering that our "illustrious" Prime Minister actually wanted to award the Nobel Peace Prize to Trump; let's keep that in mind when we go back to the polls.
This is regardless of the quality of the political alternative; something is better than nothing.
