REPORTING A CONCERNING MALICIOUS ACT!
I was called on today by two people whose accounts has been account just by clicking a malicious link shared by @steemit.airdrop. This account go round dropping comments on people's posts and if anyone gets to click on it ,their account will be hacked, their password changed leaving the owner of the account inaccessible to the account.
It's really disturbing that people are really getting scammed by these people. They come with the promise of more rewarding steem token and anyone who falls for it stands a chance to loose all their years and months of hard work. Steemit has always been one of the most engaging and fun filled web3 social media space that I know of and thing act taking place will not only risk the accounts involved but also the credibility of the steemit ecosystem.
Furthermore, the account should be taken down and it action halt. This is really not what steemit represents. I have been here for quite a number of time and I have seen the community standard of this great platform.
These are the names of the affected accounts, at least that I know of;
Although I have helped them contact steemit support, I do believe something should be done about it so that other people will feel safe blogging and interacting here.
LET'S KEEP STEEMIT SAFE.

You should be aware that there are many scammers in real life, and even more in the virtual world; therefore, you need to instruct your peers not to click on just any link they see—especially those promising easy profits.
The first step is to change your passwords, provided they haven't already been compromised.
Steemit has an excellent reputation for security; however, the responsibility lies with the user when it comes to venturing onto suspicious sites.
It is important to remember not to click links from suspicious accounts, not to grant permissions to apps, not to share account passwords, and not to lose your passwords, among other precautions.

So, is there no way that particular account can be taken down or something?
Is there no way around it?
I feel pity for those guys.
In such cases, several steps should be taken:
It is very difficult to detect these users and take appropriate action without a report. Unfortunately, in this instance, the reports were filed only after a scam had already occurred.
It is important to raise user awareness regarding certain indicators; for example, you might notice a user has a red reputation score of 1 (-1), which signals that they are completely untrustworthy. This serves as a direct way to mute them or prevent other users from falling victim to them.
Thank you for your response and for providing these important security tips. My primary concern, however, is how the affected users can reclaim their accounts from the scammers. These accounts embody years of hard work, dedication, and valuable contributions to the Steemit community, and losing access to them would be devastating for their owners.
I urge the Steemit support team, administrators, and relevant community moderators to promptly investigate this situation, secure the compromised accounts, and assist the rightful owners in regaining access. Additionally, I encourage the team to take necessary measures against the fraudulent account to prevent further incidents affecting other users.
There needs to be a method for verifying the identities of legitimate account owners and restoring their access through the proper account recovery process. Protecting users and aiding victims in recovering their accounts will significantly enhance trust and safety within the Steemit community.
I genuinely hope that @stevographix and @annydee01 will receive the support they need to recover their accounts as soon as possible. Thank you.
