The Stranger - Review
Hello Everyone,
This post is going be a short review about The Stranger.
About the novel:
The Stranger is written by Albert Camus. The original language of the novel is French. It was published in 1942. It is also considered a short novel or a novella (less than 200 pages). The genre of the novel is Philosophical.
Review:
The novel is written in a way as the narrator is mostly speaking. It is written from his perspective. Given it's genre, the novel is talking about a man who grieving. His mother just died. That is the start of the novel. It shows the main character's feelings, thoughts and the way he perceives the world. Camus wrote this novel and shows the philosophical belief of Absurdism.
My take of the novel: I have heard a lot about this novel. I thought that I will be taking some notes here and there. Maybe, highlight some conversation. But, it turns out different than expected. But, I would not say less than expected. In general, I enjoyed reading it.
I don't think I've ever read anything by Camus, and he wasn't on my radar. It sounds like an interesting work.
I think that this is one of his most famous works. It is an interesting one indeed!
I always thought Camus was a philosopher, and maybe that's why I never chose any of his books! Unfortunately, my Z Library app is down. 😆
Well, there are plenty of good writers who are in philosophy. I think it is nice reading for him.
Your Z Library app? I have not heard of it before.
Yes, but it's an unknown subject to me. I always studied the business branch, where they included more math and unfortunately removed humanities subjects.
It turns out that app is like a digital version of the Library of Alexandria, but pirated. I hope no one from the FBI reads this!
'L'Étranger' n'est pas facile à lire.
Je te recommande plus 'La Peste' pour faire la connaissance d'Albert Camus.
D'ailleurs, je ne suis pas d'avis que Camus écrivait de manière absurde.
Camus était 'existentialiste' avec des yeux critiques.

PS
'Le Mythe de Sisyphe' contains the philosophy of Camus in which he reflects on something which he calls 'absurd'. But as a friend of Sisyphos on my own, I do not agree with Camus. His philosophy seems to me absurd in itself. Hence the projection of absurdism on the universe.
The Plague..? I have seen some positive feedback about it. But, I did not check it yet. I just kept it in my "to-read" list.
Where do you search to get feedbacks on literature?
I don't intentially search for book feedback before reading it. But, sometimes I come across them through social media. But, I sometimes check the feedback in Goodreads after reading the book itself. At times, there are different point of views of the same book.
Do you search for feedbacks on literature?
Thanks!
No, me too, I don't intentially search for feedbacks on literature.
Friends or colleagues give me hints, or I find some information by chance.
Sure. Then, we've got that in common. Sometimes, friends talk about certain books. But, that rarely gets added to my list. I guess, my friends and I, have different reading preferences.
;-)
Do you also speak French? It's one of the languages I'd like to learn! But I can't pronounce the V and B letters properly, among others! 😆
I'll look for The Plague, the title is catchy!
Parler français? Un petit peu...
Malheureusement, j'ai oublié la plupart des mots...
Moi Aussi! Je ne etudie plus pas avec Duolingo 😆
I'm sorry - but I think, one cannot enjoy reading 'The Stranger'.
The story is very hard and leads into heavy reflections.
The experience of reading this novel is disturbing.
(If not, you did not yet get it.)
Well, it is the same text that I have read. Yet, there are different interpretation when it comes to it. I get that, it is not type of story with a happy conclusion or, the success at the end of the road. But, it is at least one of those which, it would interesting to see how others' perceived the story.
Thanks for passing by,
