Since you left... the house is no longer the same.
Since you left, my brother, I feel like nothing in life is the same.
The places are the same...
The days still come and go...
People still talk and laugh, and life goes on as if nothing has changed.
But I have changed.
I find myself searching for you in small things that no one notices.
In places where I used to see you.
In voices that sound like yours.
In fleeting memories that come suddenly, taking me away from everything.
I used to think that losing a brother meant losing someone who was a part of our lives...
But I've discovered it's much more than that.
We don't just lose a person.
We lose a part of the days we lived with him, a part of the dreams we imagined living together, and a part of ourselves that smiled differently when he was around.
Sometimes I wish I could go back to a very ordinary day... a day we didn't know would become a memory.
I would have talked with you longer.
I would have paid attention to the little details I took for granted. I would have cherished every moment, because now I know that some moments are only valued when they are far away.
My brother...
There are so many things I haven't told you.
Words that have remained in my heart, conversations I thought we had plenty of time to have.
I used to think there were many days...
And that tomorrow was guaranteed...
But life has taught me that some "tomorrows" never come.
And since then, I've come to understand the meaning of longing in a different way.
Longing isn't just wishing to see someone...
It's wishing you could relive just one minute of the past with them, just one minute, without changing anything, just to feel that their presence was real and that those beautiful days weren't a dream.
Sometimes I smile when I remember you...
Then sadness immediately follows.
As if my heart doesn't know how to reconcile the beauty of the memory with the pain of its owner's absence.
But I don't want your memory to be associated only with sadness.
I want to remember you with all the beautiful things you left in our lives.
With your laughter.
With your actions.
With the days we spent together. And with every beautiful impact you left in the hearts of those who knew you.
Some people leave our sight, but they never leave the places they've created within us.
And you, my brother...
You will remain in a place time cannot reach.
Years may pass, many things may change, and I may change too... but a part of you will remain as it always was within me.
A part that neither time can diminish, nor distance erase, nor life can take from me.
I will continue on this path...
But I will continue it carrying your memory with me.
And I will try to be the person you would have been proud of if you were here.
Perhaps I won't be able to tell you every day how much I miss you...
But I will carry your love in my heart in silence.
And I will let the memories speak what words cannot.
May God have mercy on you, my brother... For some absences the heart never gets used to, no matter how much time passes.
And some loved ones don't become the past... They become a part of us forever.
I apologize if I took up too much of your time. Thank you for stopping by.

Losing someone can be hard, especially if no one is left. I wonder why people never learn from history, what others say, what makes them believe there is plenty of time, there will be a next day.
I am curious about the story or should this be a poem? If so, why?
