Poll Poetry winners Payments

The Poll Do you like to write poetry? ended.

What the participants wrote and shared your van read underneath.
If you ask me it gives a good overview of hoe people see poetry from boring, not able to understand to 'love to write/read it's.

By now poetry found a new place on this platform and I truly hope creative writing will increase and we can fight AI generated text together. Especially, where skilled writers are asked to join contests.

5 SP to those mentioned underneath are transferred (the new wallet is still not super and shows transfers not or very slow).

A great INKtober month.

I like to, but I am not able to.
Haven’t been able to maintain a steady hobby. It feels a bit dishonest to go through this as a chore.
But I try to read things here at least, on Steemit. I know, bare minimum.

I have been watching films since I was a child. I have shifted to shows, but if you have spent your whole life fishing through stuff, normal and corporate shitty shows and movies turn you off.
For some people, they have certainly some safe space. For me, it is for sure movies and shows, because it helps me let go of the present.
It works to such an instant that I can do it with completely redundant work, or shave some stuff off, although I need that to be on the main screen.
That is why I have shifted to shows first. I think a movie starts and ends in quite a while. For me, I want it to last, and I cannot properly focus on a movie because of the things going on.
Recently, I have been playing games while having things on, but I cannot properly focus while doing that. It is a bad thing for me now.
I can never use my phone, and I don’t. I sit at the computer because there I can have multiple things done.
Although the same safe place feeling comes from reading a book as well.
Those too, I have to read on my computer. People are phone users. I can never.

I am a clown,
I make those laugh whose spirit is down.
If you like me, you can give me a beer,
I'll be happy and give you hug my dear.

Previously, I ONLY wrote poetry. Prose pieces gradually came to mind, really only through blogging here on Steem. Poetry is important to me because it allows me to write in a more controlled way. And that, in turn, helps me think in a more controlled way… Reading poetry was, of course, where it all began. But there are only a few that really speak to me (those by @ty-ty are definitely among them ;-)))

@ladyaryastark (68)
During my student years I became traumatized by poetry, I even came to despise it, because the curriculum insisted on making us study the most boring ones that existed in Spanish.
I also used to find all that stuff about meter and rhyme very convoluted... But then, recently, I discovered poems so good that they seem like a story in verse.
I came to the conclusion that it is romantic poems that boring me.
At one time I wanted to be a writer, but it turns out it's not easy at all. A lot of general knowledge is required, Besides creativity. For now, I think there are too many good works to read instead to trying to write something bad 😞

@blessedlife (78)
I like poems, though some are difficult to understand. Anyway they are the writer expression maybe not meant to be understood by others.
I also find storytelling poems very enjoyable, I love rhymes, so sometimes felt so inclined to chain on that game with words. But not for a while, I feel blocked in many ways. I like to play but sometimes I let myself get tangled up in rules (all right, I'm a mess haha)
So, yes but it depends on my mood.
I think fables in verses are so lovely.

(The Flute-Playing Donkey, by Tomás de Iriarte, Spanish)

I loved what you wrote about storytellers. It reminded me of the university "cuentacuentos"; we really enjoyed a seminar on that subject. It requires a certain knowledge and managment of the performing arts.
Playing around with different voices makes for a fun reading experience, too. I enjoy reading aloud. I used to read to my students and my daughter, changing my voice and dramatizing the text in some way. I think it's highly moving to start enjoy reading.

I also find that I enjoy writing a poem way more than reading one. This is most likely because I love puzzling over words, playing with double meanings, proverbs and sayings.

Me for my own part, I prefer writing poems in a sort of some stream of consciousness. Not only, but most preferred.

Would this be regarded as a storry telling poem?

It's not a new one, but as an example what you possibly could mean.
Or is your scope more on something like an epos like the following?

In participating in the Exquisite Corpse, there is (as it seems to me) NO necessarity to co-operate. Let your mind flow and spin up the story, or concatenate an independent fragment by some clever written connecting phrases. ;-)

@marblely (69)
I have to admit, some poems, I do not understand, no matter how many times I read them. And then I wonder, do I need to think a certain way haha. So, poems for me, it depends. I write them when I have an inspiration to. And for me to appreciate poems by others, I have to understand, else I don't appreciate. But when there are comments saying how good it is, I would scratch my head wondering how is it good? Then, I would end up not commenting because I do not know what to say haha.

@evagavilan (73)

I love story tellers too, inspiring ones especially. I do enjoy watching motivational story tellers because I need some form of motivation to pump me up sometimes. Even in movies or dramas, I enjoy watching characters who are story tellers. And I love story telling but mostly on my life stories or something I watched or heard. I think my brain is not as creative or imaginative as I want it to be sometimes. I've been thinking to participate in the Exquisite Corpse but my brain doesn't want to co-operate 😅But I do agree that the more we read, the more we experience or the more we hear, it does help with writing.

Decidió irse,
Pero sin volar,
Su voz aún resuena en la casa
Por instinto la busco
y sin pensarlo
le preparo su comida
Luego caigo en cuenta
de que no está
La calle está silenciosa
Los vecinos la echan de menos
sus saludos,
sus groserías,
sus risas.
Sus ladridos imitando a Susy.
Verde era como las hierbas frescas
Y tenía ojos radiantes de sol.
Hasta siempre, Lily,
mi lorita loca.
Nunca te olvidaré.

My vote for Yes, but it depends on my mood
I think I love writing stories in my mind. I love and prefer having freedom of writing than following routine or specific category to get more recognition and earning. I do diary blog but that's something the way I want and rarely perform contest writing or blogs that feels like stress.
Hope I explained it well, if you want to know more, feel free to ask! I'm here to reply, it could be a nice conversation!

Sort:

I love poetry. I would like to be able to write poems. But somehow, I am just not cut out for it. I can only wish.

There are poems, and there are good poems. Writing a good poem is not easy. One has to make clever use of words. Something I am not good at.

Still, I have this wish to try and I have been trying. Maybe one day, I will surprise you with one.

Songtexts are frequently poems too. There are so many different poems and even those without any rules.
The question you should ask yourself is what you consider poetry and what not and why not.
What if we only need to be in a certain mood to feel the words and it has nothing to do with the poem itself?
Let me know if you did.

Yes, I have heard songtexts that are very poetic. And I do know that poetries do not necessarily have to follow rules.
I guess appreciating poetry is like appreciating a piece of art/artwork. Some pieces resonate, and some don't. It is all down to indivdual tastes and interests.
Artists create and poets write. It is up to the audience - whether they appreciate their works or not. And just beacause I like a piece doesn't mean it is good. Simarily, just because I do not like a piece doesn't mean it is no good.
It is what I see, how I relate to the piece and how the work resonates with me. And I find that if I know the story, or idea behind the creation, or how the work comes about, I will appreciate it more.
I am speaking personally from an audience point of view. I am not a poet, nor an artist. I wouldn't dream of commenting, or dare to comment on what is a good poem, or not. I only know whether I like it or not.

And I find that if I know the story, or idea behind the creation, or how the work comes about, I will appreciate it more.

This interesting. I wonder if more feel that way and they appreciate a poem or piece of art more if it is explained.

Since poetry, music, art is meant in most cases for public they are the ones who should de ide if it is liked and not the critique, price set or the advertising bureau.

This vote is yours and deserved.
Let's read & comment and create a vibrant place.

❤️🍀

Thank you! I appreciate that.

I can't speak for other people. Personally, I would enjoy and appreciate the art piece more if I know the story behind it - weather it's a poem, painting and sculpture. Sometimes, you can 'read', or 'see' the feelings and emotions behind the work. Those, I would immediately like.

Enjoy your weekend

Thank you for promoting these kinds of surveys and encouraging us to reflect on such interesting topics as creative writing, poetry, the acts of reading and writing it, and finding a connection with certain themes and lyrical styles. I’m happy with my prize, hehe.

Hola, Sol. No sabía lo de tu lora. El poema es una amorosa dedicatoria.

Good to hear you are happy with your price.

It will be harder to find the real poetry and (story) writers now translates mess up with translations.

What you say about translators is true.

Thank you, everyone have a different way to perceive and aproach poetry, or not.

Indeed and this is good. The only thing we forgot to mention is songrexrs which are in many cases poetry too, the kind most like.

If possible, there are people who want to write and do it very well. With your promotions and your way of motivating people, I think we can build a great team. Thank you!

Si se puede, hay gente que quiere escribir y lo hace muy bien. Con tus promociones y tu forma de motivar creo que se puede lograr un buen equipo. ¡Gracias!

I would say: if this is what you live ignore the rest and write. People only get enthusiastic if they see the many different types of poetry.

Frage:
Sind da welche von den Zitaten verwechselt worden?
Ich denke an mich (wie immer zuerst) und auch an corpsekaizen.
Das sind doch Schnipsel aus anderen Text-Zusammenhängen, oder irre ich mich?

This is the continue of the talk in the same poll, which I considered valuable for other readers. I added the other text plus @shohana1 hers.

thanks for the kind mention kitty, my apology that I hardly can reach such awesome comment and poll initiatives and as you know me I'm a lazy cat to comment regularly on posts! That's the reason my growth is slowest in this platform! wish to catch you upcoming or running activities! Love ya 🫰🫂🥰🤗💝

There are some polls implented in the inktober prompts for the Freewriters. See CCC.

Lazy cat or not, you are you without the fake.
I am sure your growth is by far not the slowest on this platform.

Love you too.
Stay yourself, be you.

❤️🍀

thanks dear for such kind words and appreciation. 🫰🤗💝🥰💗

Danke!
Aber nein, wenn du es bewusst so gemacht hast, dann soll es bitte so bleiben.
;-)

Thanks!
But no - if it was your clear decision, then it shall stay in this way, please.
;-)

I already updated it. Now the link to your super poem is visible too. 👍

I like these polls @wakeupkitty hehe. And thank you for the reward, you didn't have to. We are happy to join the polls as it is. It is nice to read everyone's opinion on this topic. Interesting perspectives which points to similar reasons hehe.

I wrote in the poll there would be a reward for those sharing a poem... Some didn't but I found what they said valuable to read for others, that is if there are others who will read this.
