INKtober 2026 - Lounge Mode: Activated

in CCC • 5 days ago

Rich or poor, it doesn’t matter.
A little house, a tree, a pet – that’s what makes a home.
A cocktail, crisps and snacks
It tastes far better at home than on a paid-for terrace.

I watch the film of my choice
No adverts, no worldly fuss
Comfortably slumped back in my chair
I view the world through rose-tinted glasses.

Phone off
Not a soul to drive me up the wall
Feet off the floor
One with the old armchair.

That’s lounging in its purest form.

Dát is loungen pur sang.

You captured the absolute essence of 'lounging' here! 🛋️✨ I couldn't agree more—there is no luxury terrace in the world that can beat the comfort of your own old armchair, your favorite snacks, and having the phone turned completely off. Shutting out the 'worldly fuss' to view the world through rose-tinted glasses from the safety of home is a wonderful philosophy.

It is also amazing how you used a leaking Bic pen to create the drawing! It gives the sketch such a unique character and a relaxed, unpretentious vibe that fits the poem perfectly.

Thank you for this cozy reminder to just kick our feet up and enjoy the simple things. Full upvote sent your way! 🥂❤️

I refuse to throw away what I just bought so I will use it fir drawings like these and the Dodo. This lounging creature is fine with smudges. 🤣
What counts is that he knows how to relax and has everything at hand, blanket included.

I drew first and next added the poem.

I hope you also have your cozy moments.
❤️🍀

That is exactly the right spirit! No need to waste new pens, and honestly, those ink smudges add such a wonderful, authentic texture to your drawings.

It is fascinating that the drawing actually inspired the poem! The lounging creature is definitely living his best life, blanket and all.

Thank you so much for the warm wishes. I am definitely making sure to find my own 'lounge mode' moments with a good cup of coffee! Wishing you a wonderful and relaxing weekend. ☕🛋️❤️

I wanted to call him cute and laugh at his big belly, then I remembered he's a crocodile. I don't want to die young 😄

Beautiful work ❤️

I intended to draw a human, but thought of the alligators of Medusa and next that if once sitting down extra hands are needed to be served. So it has the arms of an octopussy.

Thank you for your comment.

I won’t touch upon the concept behind the drawing—which is, in its own way, quite original—but I’m not a fan of people associating themselves with monsters and depicting themselves as such. Usually, there’s a spiritual connection between an artist and their creation, though that’s just my personal opinion (God created everyone beautiful, regardless of how we look). Please, feel free to disregard that! As for the technique, the handling of space, and the precision of the details—I’m absolutely delighted! :)
