The Water Pail
"Theo! Where is my water?!" shouted Aunt Liz.
Leyla was kneading bread at the table when Theo, sprawled across the sofa, turned toward his mother and smacked his forehead. He had forgotten.
Pulling his legs off the armrest, he quickly grabbed the pail hanging from a nearby shelf and dashed to the water storage area. Pumping as fast as he could, he filled the pail with the water his mother had asked for. With all his strength, he lifted the heavy bucket and waddled back toward the kitchen.
His twin brother, Thed, hopped over to him and couldn't help giggling at the thought of the trouble Theo was about to be in. Grinning mischievously, he poked his brother.
Suddenly, Thed's nose began to itch.
"Ah-choo!"
The sneeze caught him off guard, and he accidentally pushed Theo.
The pail tipped.
Water splashed across the floor.
Aunt Liz shot both boys a sharp look and hurried over. "Look at this mess!" she snapped.
Grabbing a mop, she began wiping up the spilled water. From her room upstairs, Tia heard the commotion and came running down the stairs. She immediately started teasing her brothers while Leyla watched the scene unfold.
Leyla couldn't help but smile. Her cousins' antics always brought laughter and life into the home. After her parents passed away ten years earlier, Aunt Liz had welcomed her into the family as one of their own.
Twenty years later, Leyla stood beside the old water storage area that connected the kitchen and restroom. She looked around quietly.
The once-bustling home, filled with laughter, scoldings, and childish mischief, had long since been transformed into a museum.

I thought he would accidentally pour the water on dough she was kneading
😅 Luckily not.. Kneading is a lot of work.
One anime naturally came to mind when I read your story even though the anime was cooking not kneading. Her silly daughter splashed a pail of water over her and the stove with her cooking
The first part, Theo, reminded me of what I intend to draw for the next prompt.
The end of the story makes me sad.
Oo the dashing to pump water into pail or the spilling? Hehe. Yah quite sad. Memories it became.
