There are two holidays in the country today! The feast of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and National Unity Day. There was heavy fog and rain in the morning, but I went to church anyway. And at home, sitting comfortably in an armchair, I watched on TV the events dedicated to National Unity Day.
Сегодня 4 ноября, в стране сразу два праздника! Православный праздник Казанской иконы Божией Матери совпал с Днем народного единства. Утром был сильный туман, потом дождь, но я отправилась в храм на службу, а мероприятия, посвященные светскому дню, смотрела по телевизору, уютно устроившись в кресле.
Somehow it sounds like a busy day. Good you could follow one on TV.
There are not many celebration days left here except for king's day which is not celebrated everywhere and one of the last days I would prefer to celebrate.

It's not customary for us to take pictures inside the church, so I've never done it before. But the icons are really beautiful, their salaries are fascinating, the frescoes on the arches and the smell of candles create a special atmosphere of mystery, austerity and humility. Sometimes it seems to me that I can't talk there, my voice automatically turns to a whisper).
У нас как-то не принято фотографировать внутри церкви, поэтому я еще ни разу этого не делала. Но иконы действительно красивые, их оклад завораживает, фрески на сводах и запах свечей создают особую атмосферу таинственности, строгости и смирения. Мне иногда кажется, что там разговаривать не получается, мой голос сам, автоматически, переходит на шепот).
