Fracture || Inktober Prompt
I have seen some things in my life that can alter a person's perspective about life.
It can make someone fearful even to take the smallest action.
But fear can only hinder a person from making progress.
When I was an undergraduate, i played center back for my department's football team.
We were about to start a competition involving other departments from various faculties.
So we decided to play friendly games to keep us warmed up for the competition.
The last game we played was a tough one.
I was suppose to tackle my opponent for the ball, but before I could make the move, my colleague had rushed in with a sliding tackle.
The collision left him with a serious fracture.
His bone had shifted at his ankle, we could see the bone sticking out.
It was a terrible experience.
All i was thinking was, "it could have been me".
He went for surgery, and he to use crutches for the time being.
Starting the competition was a dread for my teammates and I.
We made careful tackles, we had seen the worse that could happen.
We played the game safe.
His leg will never be the same again.
Fracture is a bad experience, the separation can be painful.
I have seen a fair share of these injuries, and those bone shattering ones are often common beacuse of the impact of the bone collison.
Yeah.
I would not want to witness things like this if I can help it.
It's terrible to watch.
I have had a number of fractures in my life and it ain't fun for sure. At minimum, for small fractures, it starts to heal in 100 days and those 100 days are painful. But for serious ones, 100 days is just the beginning. Take good care of yourself there.
Thanks.
Quite an experience you've had.
