Sunshine On The Farm

in CCC • 12 days ago (edited)

1000197439.jpgI took this picture in the farm today. In front you can see the red sand, dry but with small green plants trying to come out. Behind it is thick green bushes. Then you see houses, white and red roofs. Far behind is the hill, or mountain. It is green and big and covered with clouds.

Even though the sky is cloudy, the sunshine is still there. I can feel it. The sun touches everything. It touches the farm land, it touches the bushes, it touches the houses and it touches the hill.

Without sunshine, this view would be dark. But sun makes the green look greener, makes the red sand look warm.

I stood there and looked at the hill. The sun was hiding but still giving light. It tells me that even on a dull day, brightness never really leaves. It is always around us, like hope.

This is what I love about the farm. Quiet, open, and peaceful.

I can see and feel the sunshine too @beckymia. And I love the way you described the photo that shows the layers from the farm to the bushes to the houses, the hill, the clouds and then sunshine. Do you live in one of the houses there? And those are really thick clouds there. When it is not dry season, what is usually planted at the farm?

Thank you! Yes I love how you noticed the layers too. My house is not far from the farm but those houses in the picture are very far, I had to zoom in to capture it. And yes the clouds were really thick that day, it looked like it wanted to rain but the sun was not giving up hahaha. During rainy season they usually plant maize, cassava, vegetables and other things there. I'm not a farmer myself, we just go there to buy farm produce because it's cheaper.

Yes, yes I love layers! Ahh.. the photo zoom and perspective always fools us, the houses did look near haha.

When is the rainy season @beckymia? Hope the farmers can plant soon. But I wonder, when they can't farm in the dry season, what do they do to earn a living? Life is hard.

Dry season is really hard. Most farmers here switch to small businesses, trading or handwork to survive until the rains come.

Upvoted! Thank you for supporting witness @jswit.

The image captures the peace you convey with your words. It's true that even a gray day holds enough light to offer hope.

I hope it rains a little, so those little plants will have an easier time. Cheers!

Thank you for your lovely words! You will be happy to hear it's actually raining here already, so those little plants are getting their drink hahaha. Thanks again for stopping by!

I'm glad to hear it! You'll soon have a beautiful harvest. Plants love nothing more than rainwater!

Thank you! The rain has really been helpful.

I really like how you frame this. It certainly brings me some hope here, because we are dealing with the transboundary haze issue, and I've come to appreciate views like this a lot more.
