Before The Water Stopped

in CCC • 12 days ago (edited)

In this corner, the world stopped.
White tiles cracked by time,
Stone sink holding shadows,
Green bowl full of holes,
Bucket on a golden pump,
Clay pots near the wall,
All still and watching.

I look and I feel quiet.
Warm, sad and lonely,
Like someone loved this place,
Then left,
But the Place still waits,
For a voice from long ago.

This was not just a sink.
This was morning.
Hands came, water came,
People talked.
The same every day,
Until one day,
No hands came back.

And now everything waits in silence,
Not empty,
Just full of yesterday.

It is sad when a nice place no longer have the same energy as it did before. People come, people go, places abandoned. I enjoyed reading your poem, it brought back some memories I had ❣️

Thank you so much ❤️ There are so many beautiful abandoned houses on YouTube, some of which can still be brought back to life, but it's still sad to see how empty they are now. I'm glad it brought back memories for you, even if it's bittersweet.

I love watching reality shows or shorts that transforms abandoned gardens, or the kind that fast forwards the process. So beautiful they are after being cleared of all the high grass and bushes.
