INKtober 2026 - Hooray
Hurrah (hooray, Hoera!)! It’s day 15 of INKtober 2026 and I’ve managed to draw every day. Slowly but surely, I’m getting better at drawing faster; it no longer takes me a whole day, nor even four hours. I still draw in the dark (although I started Oktober drawing straight out of bed ) and I don’t really manage to get ahead with my drawings to skip a day.
Drawing does make me forget about painting a bit. The truth is that it is easier (and stays tidier) to pick up a pen than to use paint and brushes.
A friend said she thought it was a shame I’d left the painting club. I told her I don’t miss the club one bit. It’s strange how little impact my departure has had on my daily routines. To be honest, I learnt very little there, and now I’m learning more through my daily drawings and am also getting round to trying out the many ideas in my head.
Now I don’t have to rush in the mornings; I sleep longer, and I could even go to the market, though I haven’t been there once.
Yesterday I was talking about Cruella and Medusa (Disney animations) and today I’ve drawn Medusa sitting in front of the mirror, getting ready for the night.
Here she’s taking off her false eyelashes whilst chatting to the orphan girl Penny. I think this is a brilliant scene. Alongside Cruella and Yzma, she’s the character who makes me laugh (I doubt the animation 'The Rescuers' was very famous).
To me all three are wonderful strong characters who certainly don’t conform to the ideal of beauty, but are happy with who they are (including their age and sagging bodies).
As far as I’m concerned, that’s something to shout ‘hooray’ about. Nothing is more important than being happy with yourself, and that deserves to be celebrated.
Due to a lack of skin-coloured paint, ‘Aunt Medusa’ ended up with pink streaks of paint on her body. This goes perfectly with her orange hair, purple eyeshadow, green eyes and the pink lace on her nightdress.
Unfortunately, I’d already coloured in her lips with a pen before I decided to add a bit more colour to the drawing with watercolours. Otherwise, the lips would have been red, but there’s no red in my paint box.

The character looks so funny as heck lol I can already imagine how funny she'll be acting 😂 that struggle with the lash and those long nails is killing me haha she's such a drama queen. Love the colors you used, it goes so well with the dramatic look
I have something for you. I hope you can see it.
Haha the way she pulled that chair, that diamond must mean so much to her 😂 Hope she learns to let a bargain be a bargain though.
Wait, you can post videos here? I thought it was only pictures! Love how you caught that moment she was pulling her eyelash.
I'll download the movie later, saw you dropped the link below.
@marblely come and feed your eyes! 😂
You can leave YouTube links, no other links of videos.
If you upload a photo elsewhere you can also post that link and the photo shows
Oh, it's showing the actual video, not just as a link.
😂😂😂 my eyes have been fed! Haha
Is this perhaps what Fröken Bock might look like after discovering exactly who has been stealing her sweet buns? :)
🤣 in this case the sweet buns is a huge diamond Penny should find underground..
Did you se the Rescuers?

If it's not about chipmunks lol, then I didn't watch it :)
Hooray for Day 15! 🎉 Reaching the halfway mark of INKtober is a huge milestone. It is so inspiring to hear that you left the painting club to follow your own daily routine—and it's clearly paying off with your amazing creativity and extra time to sleep!
Madame Medusa taking off her eyelashes is such a brilliant and funny scene to choose. I completely agree with your wonderful message: being totally comfortable with who you are, flaws and all, is the ultimate reason to shout 'Hooray!'
I just dropped a full upvote to celebrate your 15-day streak! Keep up this magnificent momentum, and definitely enjoy that well-deserved rest on the couch! ☕❤️
