INKtober 2026 | APPLE - DAY 1 🍎

Heyyy, good afternoon, my dear readers in the #Steemit community! Happy Saturday to everyone—I hope you’re all doing great. It’s your friend Manuel here once again, super happy to bring you a new #steemexclusive art post. This time, I wanted to join the popular challenge known as #Inktober—a really cool initiative that runs throughout the month of October, where we’re supposed to create a daily illustration related to a specific theme or keyword; in this case, I’m starting the challenge with the word “apple,” since due to family health issues I hadn’t been able to post until now, but even so, I didn’t want to let this piece go to waste while I catch up on the challenge.

Heyyy, muy buenas tardes mis queridos lectores y lectoras de la comunidad de #Steemit, feliz sábado para todos, y espero que se encuentren de maravilla, por aquí los saluda una vez más su amigo Manuel, super feliz de poder traerles un nuevo post artístico #steemexclusive. En esta oportunidad quise unirme al popular reto conocido como #Inktober, una dinámica muy genial la cual dura todo este mes de octubre, y en la cual debemos realizar una ilustración diariamente relacionada a un tema o palabra clave especifica; en este caso estoy empezando el reto con la palabra (Manzana), ya que por problemas de salud familiar no había podido publicar hasta ahora, pero aun así no quería desperdiciar esta obra mientras me pongo al día con el reto.

In this case, based on the keyword (“Apple”), what came to mind was illustrating an apple that had fallen from the top of a tree, with a small, cute worm emerging from inside it, feasting on the fruit. Since my illustration style leans more toward digital art, I decided to create this piece digitally—but, of course, with certain restrictions: no textured or embossed brushes, and a single color palette consisting of grayscale. I chose to do it this way to stay true to the #Inktober theme, and well, I hope you really like my idea.

En este caso tomando la palabra clave (Manzana) lo que se me ocurrió fue ilustrar una manzana la cual cayo desde la cima de un árbol, y desde su interior se encuentra saliendo un pequeño y tierno gusano en cual se esta dando un festín con esta fruta. Como mi estilo de ilustración esta más enfocado al estilo digital decidí hacer esta obra en digital, pero por supuesto con ciertas restricciones, y sin ningún pincel con textura o relieve, y con una sola gama de colores que seria en escala de grises; quise hacer esto así para que fuese más justo con la temática #Inktober, y bueno, espero les guste mucho mi idea:

PROCESS / PROCESO

For my artwork, I used only two brushes: my flat brush for the base and my airbrush for the shadows. Using dark gray tones, I created what would serve as the base of the apple—which is the main subject of my artwork. Then, using the airbrush, I varied the shades of gray to create shadows on the lower part and highlights on the upper part.

Para mi obra use solo 2 pinceles, como lo son mi pincel plano para la base, y mi pincel de aerógrafo para trabajar las sombras, con tonos gris oscuro cree lo que seria la base de la manzana, la cual seria el principal protagonista de mi obra, luego con el aerógrafo fui variando solo los grises para crear sombras en la parte baja, Y luces en la parte alta.

As for the little worm crawling out of the apple, I used a slightly lighter mid-tone gray. With the airbrush, I gave it a slightly elongated shape, but with some horizontal bumps along its body. Then, for the eyes, I used a slightly darker gray to create a large, tender, and very expressive look.

En lo que respecta al pequeño gusano saliendo del interior de la manzana use un gris un poco mas intermedio claro, con el aerógrafo me encargue de darle un poco de forma alargada, pero con ciertos bultos horizontales en su cuerpo. Luego para lo ojos use un gris un poco mas oscuro para crear una mirada grande, tierna y full expresiva.

For the background, I used the airbrush to give a bit of shape to the large tree right behind the apple and the worm. To do this, I made slightly shorter strokes that crossed over each other a little. As for the very back of the background, I created a large spot with light gray, and then used the airbrush to paint around this spot to give the sky that glowing effect.

Ya para el fondo me ocupe de usar el aerógrafo para darle un poco de forma al gran árbol justo detrás de la Manzana y el gusano, para esto realice trazos un poco mas cortos, y que se cruzaran un poco entre si. Y en lo que respecta a la parte más atrás del fondo cree un gran punto con gris claro, y luego con el aerógrafo me encargue de dibujar alrededor de este punto para darle ese efecto brillante al cielo.
