Good afternoon, my dearest #Steemit readers—happy Sunday to everyone! I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend. This is your friend Manuel here, and I’m really excited to share a new digital illustration with you that I finished a few days ago exclusively for the #steemexclusive platform. Actually, this is one of my first entries for Day 2 of #Inktober2026—I just hadn’t had the chance to finish it earlier and chose to continue with the drawings for the other days instead. But since I really liked what I’d already sketched out, I decided to finish it. The assigned word for this piece was “RELIC,” so I came up with the idea of drawing, in grayscale, a cute girl who just found a beautiful necklace with a medallion—a very valuable relic!

I hope you really like this idea, and here I’ll share a bit of the process so you can appreciate it better!

Muy buenas tardes mis queridísimos lectores y lectoras de #Steemit, feliz domingo para todos, espero que estén teniendo un excelente fin de semana. Por aquí los saluda su amigo Manuel, muy emocionado de compartirles una nueva ilustración digital que terminé hace algunos días de manera exclusiva para la plataforma #steemexclusive. En realidad se trata de una de mis primeras entradas correspondientes al día 2 del #Inktober2026, solo que no había tenido la oportunidad de terminarla antes y preferí continuar con los dibujos de los otros días; pero como lo que había avanzado me había gustado mucho, decidí terminarlo. La palabra correspondiente para esta obra era "RELIC", así que se me ocurrió dibujar en escala de grises a una linda chica que se acaba de encontrar un hermoso collar con medallón, ¡una reliquia muy valiosa!

¡Espero que les guste mucho esta idea y aquí les compartiré un poco del proceso para que lo aprecien mejor!

PROCESS / PROCESO

For the concept and character design, I chose an expressive, close-up portrait pose of the girl holding up her newly discovered relic pendant by its chain with a curious and delighted smile. I drew her featuring straight blonde hair framing her face, gentle facial features, dark lips, a casual jacket over a shirt, and an intricate circular medallion adorned with a central star-shaped gem.

Para el concepto y diseño del personaje, elegí una pose de retrato en plano medio mostrando a la chica sosteniendo por la cadena el medallón relicario recién descubierto, con una sonrisa curiosa y complacida. La dibujé luciendo un cabello rubio liso que enmarca su rostro, rasgos faciales suaves, labios oscuros, una chaqueta casual sobre una camiseta y un medallón circular intrincado decorado con una gema central en forma de estrella.

For the details and rendering, I worked carefully on smoothing her skin gradients, facial contours, and the folds of her jacket using soft airbrush techniques. I detailed the bright metallic sheen and sharp reflections on the golden relic pendant, added glossy highlights to her hair strands and eyes, and defined the clean linework to give the character a smooth, polished volume suited for the Inktober theme.

Para los detalles y el renderizado, trabajé cuidadosamente en suavizar los degradados de su piel, las facciones del rostro y los pliegues de su chaqueta mediante la técnica de aerógrafo. Detallé el brillo metálico radiante y los reflejos marcados en el medallón de la reliquia, agregué puntos de luz sobre su cabello y sus ojos, y definí un delineado limpio para otorgarle un volumen suave y pulido a la figura, perfecto para la temática del Inktober.

For the magical elements, lighting, and environment, I set the scene against a clean studio background featuring diagonal grey light gradients. A bright light source coming from the side illuminates her face and the golden medallion, casting soft highlights that make the precious relic sparkle in her hand.

Para los elementos mágicos, la iluminación y la ambientación, ubiqué la escena sobre un fondo de estudio limpio con degradados diagonales en tonos grises. Una fuente de luz brillante proveniente desde un costado ilumina su rostro y el medallón, proyectando destellos suaves que hacen resaltar la valiosa reliquia en su mano.
