Singers of the red

Behind the curtain stands a man in blue,
He clears his throat and spits to start anew.
“Did you not practice in the bath today?
Don't worry, judges, honey's on the way.”

He leaves his heavy thoughts and steps onstage,
The distant crowd awaits the coming mage.
The fierce judges watch, demanding speed:
“Get it together, cash is what you need!”

He clears his throat again to start his art,
A song or story flowing from the heart.
“The deepest message I will now relay:
A lullaby, for life is hard grey.”

His voice explodes, a dragon's heavy roar,
The startled crowd shields ears against the floor.
They’ve never seen a singing devil shine,
Yet all his lyrics turn out pure, divine.

The crowd looks shocked, expressions shifting fast,
For talent rare requires grit to last.
A steadfast soul, a smile upon the face—
Is heaven's prize above the money chase.

The final, croaking note begins to fade,
An uproar rises for the piece he played.
The demon-voiced, yet gentle-hearted dove,
Now walks the carpet that he dreamed of.

Creative process

It all started with shapes—just shapes I had drawn for days in a sketchbook. I hadn’t really been using this app, so I decided to check out the perspective drawing feature using just shapes, and I was able to draw a human-like figure using shapes.
( I've used it before of course but I was comparing to ibis to see which was more convenient)

Yesterday, I finally went to check it out. Although I had planned to paint something new there, I remembered this Samaritan. I gave him a trace and made an interesting face for him. I made sure predictive stroke was on during this process for more straight line compared to without.

After the felt-pen tracing and drawing the curtain outline, I used the bucket tool to paint it flat.

Later, I moved on to selecting each space and adding tones to show that some things weren’t flat.

In the end, we got our stunning image, and the last part is all that matters.

Thank you. I give God the glory, honestly, because I was terrible at this at some point. This humble place I've reached began with trial and error, destruction and evolution. Rome wasn't built in a day, and I'm not at the finish line yet, but I'm grateful to be growing on this track.
✌️

That's even better, because practice and discipline make you improve. Have a great week!

Thanks for reading.

The singer expresseth his joy with a 'do re mi'—
Cover thy ears, lest thy eardrums weep a bitter cry.
While thy ears are shielded, his thanks come subtle:

Thank you, my wonderful audience!

I'm curious about what song will be sung.

I love how you made the scary voice actually have the purest message. The face you gave him says it all.
