Inktober #6 (Cute) Ogre
After DreamWorks' success with the Shrek saga, that character inevitably becomes a point of reference whenever we hear the word "ogre." Not only that, but he was "civilized" to such an extent that we now have a completely different image of what an ogre is. I ended up loving him, his wife, his children, and his charismatic friends. I love his little ears, humour and this sort of anti-Disney style fairy tale (and such a great soundtrack!) I am referring to the meaning of "ogre" within the context of mythology, because socially, there are other types of ogres, too. We couldn't warm up to those ones even if we wanted to. I was very tempted to draw the warrior version of Fiona that appears in one of the movies, but I ultimately chose to draw Sir Squeakles—her daughter Felicia's toy. Real-life versions of this toy from the animated films are sold in stores. I don't recall seeing any Shrek merchandise in my country, but I would love to have a sweet little fabric Made baby ogre, so at least decided to draw one. First, I looked for a reference image and sketched the outline in pencil. Then, I traced the outline with a black pen and filled in the eyes, which are a pair of buttons. I used correction fluid to draw the thread holding them in place. I used a red pen (that red pen came in handy, hehe) to draw the stitching for the mouth, and I combined it with black ink to fill in the jumper with a tartan pattern. I also added some very subtle shading. But I couldn't leave Sir Squeakles without his signature ogre-green color, so I used a couple of apple-green colored pencils. How do you like it? Sure he sparkles amongbother ogres, he is a smily one.
Thank you!
Did Karlsson fly past Shrek's swamp? An interesting concept :)
No, I'm sure he didn't. Maybe for the next movie, they should come up with an interesting encoutering, but he should be careful not to crash with Burro's wife.
