Global Story Mapping 08: Adalot Para Pukur, Tangail
This is @sushanta83 From #Bangladesh
Hello friends, how are you all? I hope you are doing well. Today, I am here with a wonderful post; I have come to review a specific pond as part of a competition. There is a very large, well-known, and famous pond located opposite the Boro Kalibari Road in our Tangail district. People from the city often spend their mornings and afternoons here, engaging in physical exercise. So, I have come here this morning to spend some time exploring and reviewing the area. Let me share more details with you—please stay tuned.

If you look closely at the main image, you can see the entire scene, featuring a beautiful setup where stainless steel piping has been used to create an attractive perimeter fence around the pond. Access to the pond itself is restricted from all sides. I also noticed a well-laid-out path—complete with steps—designed for walking and physical exercise, offering a convenient space for people to engage in these activities.

Later, I noticed a set of stairs leading down to the water. Standing there, I began to admire the beautiful scenery. Soon, I observed how the pathways had been thoughtfully designed throughout the area. I also noticed a lovely path extending to the right—an excellent spot for running and physical exercise—and saw a similar path on the left side as well. I observed that these paths connected seamlessly with the main road. Shortly after, I managed to capture some photos using my mobile phone, successfully recording views of several of these pathways.

Later, I noticed that various types of trees and plants had been planted all around the pond's edge. To my right, I saw a large Krishnachura (Gulmohar) tree. Since the morning sun was intense, I spent some time standing in the shade of that tree. It had grown quite large, and I observed that many people gather to sit and spend time under it during the afternoon. Then, on the other side, I spotted an open area featuring lovely play equipment for young children. I immediately captured photos of the scene with my mobile phone, noting that it was an ideal spot for children to play in the afternoon.

I managed to capture several photos here to showcase the pond. You will notice that I took shots of the various stairways; I have already presented an image of the main stairway, and I also examined the steps that lead from the top down to the water level. Additionally, I captured a view from down by the water's edge using my mobile phone. In short, I was able to take a series of photos in different frames. Many people use this path to access the water for bathing.

Before long, I noticed a variety of refuse and debris scattered throughout the pond. Not so long ago, the water here was pristine, and people would regularly bathe and swim from morning until afternoon. Nowadays, however, people discard trash into the water, causing the fish to die and leading many to abandon the site. Consequently, the local residents are facing numerous problems. I hope that, before long, the area will be cleaned up and restored to a pristine state.

After a while, I noticed that several tube lights—or electric lights—had been installed all around the area. Since thousands of people spend their time here during the late afternoon and evening, the lighting seemed appropriate. I spotted a tube light and a supporting pole up ahead, and on the opposite side, I saw a row of coconut trees. These trees were quite large, and I could see that they were laden with coconuts. I spent some time observing the surroundings in this manner before finally concluding my visit and leaving the place.

Thanks for inviting me.
This was such a wonderful and informative review of Adalot Para Pukur! You have described the whole place so beautifully that it feels like we are walking around the pond and exploring it with you. I really liked the walking paths, stairways, railing, greenery, and the children’s play area. It seems like a lovely place for people to spend their mornings and afternoons while enjoying some fresh air and doing exercise.
The large trees and coconut trees must make the surroundings even more beautiful and peaceful. I also appreciate the effort you made to capture different views of the pond from various angles. However, it is really sad to see garbage being thrown into the water because it can damage the beauty of the place and also harm the fish and other aquatic life. Hopefully, the authorities and local people will work together to keep this beautiful pond clean and restore it to its former condition. Thank you for taking us along on this interesting visit and sharing such beautiful photographs with us.
