When I visited Chef's Table Courtside, located at United City, 100 Feet Road (Madani Avenue), Dhaka, one of the first restaurants that caught my attention was TokyoDango.

TokyoDango is a Japanese restaurant in Bangladesh where different types of Japanese street food are available. I had never tried this type of food before, so the restaurant immediately made me curious.

What attracted me most during my visit was the restaurant's environment. Although the restaurant is relatively small, I really liked its seating area and Japanese-inspired decoration. The traditional Japanese-style lanterns and warm lighting made the place look quite different from the other food outlets around it.

TokyoDango is located inside Chef's Table Courtside, at United City on 100 Feet Road, also known as Madani Avenue, in Dhaka.

Chef's Table Courtside has several restaurants and food outlets in one location, so visitors can find different types of food in the same place.

The location is in a developed part of Dhaka and is accessible by different types of transportation. I have visited Chef's Table Courtside before, and during my visit, TokyoDango was one of the restaurants that caught my attention.

The restaurant also has other branches in different parts of Dhaka and nearby areas.

A Small Japanese Corner

TokyoDango is not a large restaurant, but I really liked its seating area.

The space has a simple but attractive Japanese-inspired design. The seating area is decorated with traditional Japanese white paper lanterns, known as chochin, along with warm lighting.

I think these lanterns are one of the main attractions of the restaurant. They give the place a different identity and create a feeling that is somewhat different from a typical fast-food restaurant.

The setup reminded me of a small Japanese street food corner. Even though I was still in Dhaka, the decoration gave me the feeling of seeing a small piece of Japan in Bangladesh.

The Japanese-style decoration was probably the part of TokyoDango that I liked most.

The white paper lanterns hanging above the seating area looked beautiful, especially with the warm lighting. The decoration is not overly complicated, but it works well with the theme of the restaurant.

I think the restaurant looks particularly attractive in the evening when the lights are turned on.

For me, these small details made TokyoDango more interesting than an ordinary food stall. The decoration also makes the place suitable for people who enjoy taking photos or simply sitting in a different kind of environment.

Surrounding Environment

Another thing I noticed around TokyoDango was the surrounding environment.

There is an ornamental shop next to the restaurant, and several other restaurants and food outlets are located around Chef's Table Courtside.

The overall environment becomes more lively in the evening. Since different restaurants are located close to each other, visitors can walk around and explore several food options in one visit.

I liked the fact that TokyoDango did not feel completely separate from the rest of the food court. Instead, its Japanese-inspired decoration gave it a unique appearance among the other outlets.

I Did Not Try the Food

One important thing I want to mention is that I did not taste any food from TokyoDango during my visit.

Therefore, I cannot give my personal opinion about the taste, food quality or portion size. I only looked around the restaurant and observed its environment and available food options.

Maybe I will try something from here on my next visit.

The menu is interesting to me because these are foods that I have never tried before. The chicken, shrimp, beef and takoyaki options made me curious about what Japanese street food actually tastes like.

For now, my experience is mainly about the restaurant's environment and decoration.

My Overall Experience

Even though I did not eat anything at TokyoDango, I had a good first impression of the restaurant.

I liked the small seating area and especially the traditional Japanese white paper lanterns. The warm lighting made the restaurant look even more attractive in the evening.

I also liked how the restaurant has its own identity. There are several food outlets at Chef's Table Courtside, but TokyoDango's Japanese-style decoration made it easy to notice.

Since I have never tried this type of Japanese street food before, I am interested in visiting again in the future and trying something from the menu.

For this visit, however, I would say that the environment and decoration were the main things I enjoyed.

Final Thoughts

Overall, TokyoDango caught my attention because of its unique Japanese-inspired environment.

When I first saw the restaurant at Chef's Table Courtside, I liked the decoration and seating arrangement. The traditional white paper lanterns and warm lighting were particularly beautiful, especially in the evening.

I did not try any food during this visit, so I am not able to review the taste. However, the menu looks quite different from the usual fast-food options that I normally see.

The chicken, beef, shrimp and takoyaki options are interesting, and I would like to try one of them in the future.

For now, TokyoDango has given me a good impression because of its environment, decoration and unique Japanese street food concept.

If I visit Chef's Table Courtside again, I may finally try something from TokyoDango and share my food experience in another post.
